This will be an easy pick for any G502 enthusiast.Today in our Logitech G502 Lightspeed Gaming Mouse Review, we will be looking at a mouse that’s a direct upgrade to its wired predecessor: the highly-acclaimed Logitech G502 HERO gaming mouse.
Keep in mind that if you use the PowerPlay functionality you get slightly less weight customization than you might be used to from the original G502, as the charging module takes up some space. Obviously, the mouse is most enjoyable in conjunction with a wireless charging mat, but the lifespan of 60(/48) hours with one charge is great anyway. The G502 was already so good that there was barely any place to improve, but the added wireless function makes for an undeniably amazing gaming experience. The G502 Lightspeed isn’t only one of the best wireless gaming mice, it also makes a good place for the best gaming mouse overall. But be warned, this will essentially double the amount of money you’ll have to spend. If you want the maximum level of convenience you can get Logitech’s wireless charging mouse pad. Especially when compared to the original G502.įortunately, the price already dropped down to $ 99.99 though, which is much more justifiable. The price point of the Logitech G502 Lightspeed initially was $ 149.99, which was admittedly pretty high for a gaming mouse. The mouse wouldn’t be used in top-level gaming if it wouldn’t perform accordingly.

One huge argument that speaks for that is that many pro players actually use the Logitech G502 Lightspeed for competitive gaming as seen on. And actually: There were no measurable differences in latency. So, do you actually feel a difference in latency to the wired version? The gaming mouse uses Logitech’s Lightspeed technology, which they state to be ultra-fast and reliable. Optionally the mouse can be charged via a micro USB cable, which gives you basically a wired G502 during the charging periods. The Logitech G502 Lightspeed does have PowerPlay though, which means you can get the wireless charging mousepad with it and you’ll never have to worry about charging again. The battery offers up to 60 hours of gameplay with one charge or up to 48 hours of gameplay with the RGBs on. If you like heavier mice, you can add up to 16g via two 4g weights and four 2g weights to the mouse (you might not be able to use those when using PowerPlay). This means you don’t have to worry about pulling a brick over your mousepad. Even though they had to build in the battery, they actually managed to reduce the weight. While the body of the G502 weighed 121g, Logitech managed to get it down to 114g (4.3 ounces) on the Lightspeed. They’re using a thin-wall internal endoskeleton and a lighter mouse wheel to reduce the weight (no worries, the mouse wheel still feels the same though). Weightīut just because it looks the same, doesn’t mean it is the same: While it’s almost identical on the outside, Logitech basically changed everything on the inside of the G502 Lightspeed.

One big plus about the software is its ease of use compared to other software. Due to the good layout of the customizable buttons, this mouse is a good pick for any genre.īesides the customization of the buttons, you also get to adjust the sensitivity and RGBs in the G Hub software. The G502 Lightspeed has a rather basic form that doesn’t feel clustered, but still offers extra buttons for certain hotkeys that need to be accessed quickly. But if you’re a G502 fan, you probably already know that. This sensor is extremely precise and reliable.
The mouse uses the Logitech Hero (High Efficiency Rating Optical) sensor that can scale between 100 and 25,600 DPI.
They’re so similar, that you wouldn’t even notice a difference if they were sitting right next to each other (except for the cable of course). This mouse looks and FEELS exactly like its predecessor. Reproducing one of the most loved mice in a wireless version without changing anything noticeable to it, is pretty hard to do and also the reason why it took Logitech so long. Even the LEDs light up in the very same way. Just like its predecessor the mouse has several removable weights to adjust it to perfection. It still has the same body, 11 customizable buttons and the U-shaped thumb rest. Judging from the outside it could very well be the same mouse. Logitech really focused on leaving the G502 as much G502 as possible. Does the battery make the mouse too chunky? Is there a difference in latency? And obviously: Can I still afford it? Performance The G502 Lightspeed literally brings the only upgrade to this iconic mouse that has been missing: It’s wireless.īefore buying the upgraded version there are still some questions to answer.
